t’s always exciting when cracking open the first book of a fantasy series. ‘Pawn of Prophecy’ of The Belgariad is no exception. First published in 1983 by Corgi Books, The Belgariad has constantly been in print. I thought The Bottled Imp should find out why.

The focus of the book is one a young boy named Garion who lives and works on a farm. Life is fairly cosy and comfortable for him with his Aunt Pol taking care and looking out for him. But soon Garion’s idyllic world is turned upside down by forces unknown and uncontrollable to himself.

Thrown into a new life, a life Garion neither wished for nor understands, he must trust the people closest to him. But is this a wise thing to do? Sometimes the people you think you know the most; turn out to be the people you know the least.

I’d seen this book in bookshops for years and even started reading it a long time ago. For some unknown reason, I never finished it. I was curious to know why. This time I did finish it and you can find out if it was worth it by watching our review. Enjoy…
