MDEQ Environmental Education & Outreach Mobile Classroom Preview

Описание: The Mississippi Department of Environmental (MDEQ) Environmental Education and Outreach Mobile Classroom is a water quality unit study that travels to elementary schools and educational events located in priority watersheds throughout the state of Mississippi. Non-point source pollution is a major contributor to impaired water bodies (inability to locate the source of the pollution), which is usually caused by daily habits of citizens. This program helps students to understand how the water is becoming polluted and how they can make practical daily habit changes that will improve water quality in their priority watersheds. The program itself, which includes audience participation, aligns with the Mississippi Environmental Science Framework for 3rd-6th grades. The companion unit study, The Water Quality Steward Study Guide, also aligns with the Mississippi Curriculum Framework and includes, lessons, labs, activities, vocabulary, games, reviews, and quizzes.
