Woodturning Firewood: The What-Not Bowl - Spalted Maple
When I first started turning I had lots of kiln dried lumber for flat work but nothing really thick enough to turn without gluing up blanks. I picked up small pieces of logs from the road sides or raided the firewood pile to get wood to practice turning on. In this video I take a small, uneven chunk of very spalted and see what I make from it.
Bowl was finished with abrasive paste and Brad’s Tung Wax Finish
