Shepperton, Middlesex. Watersplash Farm.
The farm at the end of the road I was born in was a farm for as long as I can remember, but now they are going to extract the aggregate from beneath it.
I worked at the Greenham Sand and Ballast site in Littleton Lane some 40 years ago, and we did the same thing there and the land was reinstated to farm land once the hole was filled in.
This is the first video of the Gravel pit which opened in 2024 at the top of Green Lane and I hope to do follow up videos in the future.
You can see from the footage that they have started building the baffle banks with the top soil and sub soil, and extracting aggregate.
An access and exit road from the site is being installed to the roundabout at Gaston Bridge road and Green lane.
