Wrong Way Crash on I 45 Leaves Two Drivers Trapped

Описание: At approximately 12:45 a.m. on December 5th, 2025, officers with the Houston Police Department and firefighters from the Houston Fire Department responded to reports of a major traffic collision on the southbound lanes of Interstate 45, just north of downtown Houston.

Responding units located two heavily damaged vehicles, one stopped in the freeway lanes and another hanging over the left side of the roadway. Both drivers were trapped inside their vehicles upon arrival.

Officers were able to break a window and rescue the driver of a red vehicle that was high-centered on the concrete divider before fire crews arrived. Firefighters later extricated the second driver without incident.

Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries. According to police, a female driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, and investigators believe the crash involved a wrong-way driver.

The incident remains under investigation.
