The Apache is the sort of board you'd notice immediately on the rack at a surf shop because what makes it different than most boards are two features that stand out immediately.

Rocker differences and foil distributions are hard to eyeball in most boards, but the Apache seems different to even novice surfers.

It's got a concave deck which means something different depending on who you talk to - either it's easier to paddle on or takes less effort to balance on or allows for a mystical connection with the wave leading to a sensation of oneness with the ocean (really they're just saying that a concave deck brings your feet closer to the ocean because of less foam between your soles and the hull, thus making you stand inside your board, instead of on top of it.)

The Apaches use of channels are interesting because they're parabolic, and allow the board to tun easier when compared to channels that are straight.
