"Mazurka-Chôro" is a well-known piece for solo guitar by the Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos (1887–1959). It is the first movement of his longer work, the Suite populaire brésilienne (Brazilian Popular Suite), which was composed between approximately 1908 and 1912.
"Mazurka-Chôro" is one of the early pieces where Villa-Lobos began to fully incorporate the rhythms, melodies, and spirit of Brazilian folk and popular music into his classical compositions.
