Two years later and I'm still playing my custom Adams A4. It really does have the warm, dark, "buttery" sound I like. However, due to its large bore, the slotting and responsiveness have gradually become a problem. So I decided to check out some other horns. Here are some highlights from my recent search. - JB

After this round of testing, I'm thrilled to be ordering a trumpet from Klangwerkstatt Martin Böhme! Martin's trumpets are SO responsive and agile, thanks to the MAW valves, and his Tumultus model has the big/warm/dark sound I prefer.
