Microdieseling can be likened to the process of cavitation in equipment.
In microdieseling, entrained air moves from a low pressure zone to a high pressure zone.
As the air moves through the oil, it produces localized temperatures in excess of 1,000C!
We know, that for any 10C rise above 60C, the oil life is essentially halved, imagine what happens at 1,000C!!
In microdieseling, it is critical to note that the type of deposit being produced varies as per the implosion pressure.
With a high implosion pressure (similar to an explosion), incomplete combustion products are formed such as soot, tars and sludge.
For a low implosion pressure, carbon insolubles such as coke, tars and resin are produced.
