HHMH Triple Celebration highlights video

Описание: Enjoy this 12-minute highlights reel from Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii's Triple Celebration held on September 7 & 8, 2024, at the Ala Moana Hotel in Honolulu.

The year 2023 marked the 850th anniversary of the birth of Shinran Shonin, the founder of the Jodo Shinshu Buddhist tradition, and 2024 is the 800th anniversary of the establishment of the Jodo Shinshu teaching and the 135th anniversary of the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii. The Triple Celebration included special services, workshops, and entertainment commemorating these auspicious events.

The event theme was “Sharing the Joy of Nembutsu Together: Our Living Heart of Gratitude." The keynote speaker was Rev. Dr. Takashi Miyaji, recently named Dean of the Institute of Buddhist Studies located in Berkeley, California.

Project Local, a company established in 2024 to produce compelling multimedia stories of local organizations and businesses, created the video.
