Heading for Double Island Point… and Ending Up in Noosa Day 64

Описание: Day 64 begins with a damp, grey departure from Kawana Marina as I head out through the Mooloolaba channel and start the long forty‑mile run toward Double Island Point. Light winds, leftover northerly chop, and passing showers made for a slow and unsettled start, but the sky gradually cleared as I motor‑sailed up the Sunshine Coast.

After raising the mainsail in the basin and logging on with Coast Guard, I worked my way past Mount Coolum, Mudjimba Island, and the Sunshine Coast Airport. A helicopter training exercise played out nearby, and La Fiesta eventually overtook me in the light conditions.

The wind came and went all day — enough at times for four or five knots, then dropping away again. With progress too slow to reach Double Island Point before dark, I diverted into Noosa for the night. Laguna Bay offered just enough shelter from the residual northerly swell, and the warm evening made for a comfortable stop before continuing north in the morning.
