This might be my favorite song of all time. The lyrics are so masterfully crafted and yet so vague so that the listener can give their own meaning to the song, and when Hendrix covered it he took it to another level. Dylan’s lyrics with Hendrix’s guitar playing is the best musical combination I’ve ever heard.
“All along the Watchtower” was written by Bob Dylan and released on his 1967 album “John Wesley Harding.” It was later famously covered by the Jimi Hendrix Experience on their 1968 album “Electric Ladyland.”
