Perhaps he was mistakenly credited for Rodeo Rosie, but that's one of Jerry Nelson's many characters.

The second audio page with The Count had to be adjusted for severe, off-center wow-and-flutter. The other fluctuations you hear, such as the uneven bus horns and the cow that sounds a lil' shaky, come from the fact that the foil records have started to shrink on the page and the surfaces are uneven-- this causes the stylus to ride unevenly and throws of the centrifugal balance of the spinning pickup mechanism.

Pitch adjustment was made after the recordings were captured, and some pages tend to fly off into wild speeds midway, so things are just going to be uneven for the most part. Just a quirk of the technology involved.

Audio captured directly from the stylus output with DC ground loop bias cancelled out, captured flat, mono processed utilising vintage phono amplification. These little records will never sound great, but this method is far superior to just holding a microphone to the player's speaker.
