The Crypto-Jewish Women of Spain
This was the first in a webinar series in a multi-part educational webinar series celebrating the courage and determination of the Women of Sefarad. The forced conversions of the Jews in Spain changed the face of Spanish Jewry. The dismantling of Jewish institutions by the Inquisition rendered the home as the gatekeeper of Jewish traditions. The role of the woman as wife and in charge of children and household, made her the transmitter of family traditions and culture.
