Today's Devotion:
365 Daily Devotions: Seminary Edition
💁🏻 Concept: Sons of God
In Scripture, “sons of God” often refers to angels highlighting their role as created beings who serve God. Unlike Christ, the eternal Son, they are creatures under divine authority. It is possible that fallen angels were once called “sons of God,” as they originally belonged to God’s heavenly host. Their rebellion transformed them from ministering spirits into enemies of God, contrasting their former glory with their present ruin.
📖 Bible Readings: Job 1:6
(Job 2:1; Psalm 29:1; Hebrews 1:5–14; Revelation 5:11–12; Ephesians 6:12; Matthew 25:41; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 6)
👨🏻💻 Teachings:
1. Sons of God are angels who serve God.
2. Some angels abandoned their positions.
3. Satan is the leader of angelic rebels.
💪🏼 Applications:
1. Treasure our privilege position in Christ.
2. Test every spirit whether they are from God.
3. Triumph over Devil’s schemes through Christ.
🎙Discussion:
How do you practically test every spirit if they are from God?
Alternative questions:
1. What have you learned from this devotion?
2. How can you practically apply our devotion?
🙏🏼 Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your constant presence. You are always with us and never abandoned us. Please protect me and my family from devil’s schemes designed to destroy us. Protect our relationships. It is the work of the enemy to make our family miserable. Protect us from evil and guard our hearts from deception. Guide our steps in righteousness and keep us close to Christ. Lead us in wisdom each day, and let Your Spirit strengthen us to walk faithfully in Your will. In Jesus’ name, amen.
