This is an activation of Thomas Nelson Community College's mass notification system. The system, which is comprised of three Federal Signal Modulators - a 5020 and 2008 at the Hampton campus and a 1004 at the Historic Triangle campus - was installed sometime between March 2012 and October 2013. This is the Historic Triangle siren.
This activation was part of the 2015 Virginia Statewide Tornado Drill. The sirens are tested for this drill and the Great Southeast Shakeout in October - any additional tests do not appear to be on a set schedule.
