Today I walk central Palolem discussing the costs I’ve incurred on this three month stay in India. I disclose the total amount of money I’ve spent for the duration as well as breaking costs down for food, lodging, transport and incidentals.

Along the way I show you what a two dollar breakfast looks like, before meeting numerous shop owners throughout Pallet’s town centre. I ask these retailers where they’re from, if their plan is to return to their place of origin or start in Goa, and many other questions about their life in Palolem.

I take a walk through the town’s back lanes while discussing the issue with some dogs, and how I manage my money when away.

I always carry cash, only keeping a card on me for emergencies as I’ve had many problems with my card number being skimmed or taken. Most people it seems use a Wise card for their money management while away and I hop0e to adopt this method soon.

We meet many locals today from money changers to roadside ladies selling temple decorations, barbers to leather good salesmen, and many others.

This is an intimate look at Pallet’s town centre.
