The American Holiday Festival Finale featuring all you’ve come to love in our annual holiday tradition: The U.S. Army Herald Trumpets, Orchestra, and vocalists from the Army Voices and Army Chorus, performing alongside jazz vocalist Gregory Porter, Voices of Service, and the Silhouettes!
---
1:03 "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" (composed by Edward Pola/George Wyle, arranged by Staff Sgt. Sara Corry) is performed today by soldiers from The US Army Orchestra, Army Voices, and Downrange! This song was originally written for The Andy Williams Christmas Album, and performed by Andy Williams, who became known as “Mr. Christmas” for his televised Christmas specials.
----
3:46 "Deck the Halls (Many Moods of Christmas)" features The US Army Orchestra and The US Army Chorus. “The Many Moods of Christmas 1963” was a suite of Christmas carols conducted by Robert Shaw and performed by the Robert Shaw Chorale. Other songs included were, Silent Night, O Come All Ye Faithful, The First Nowell, Joy to The World and many others.
----
9:22 This version of "Jingle Bells" was originally performed by Michael Buble and The Puppini Sisters. Today it is performed by soldiers from The US Army Orchestra, Army Voices, and Downrange! Our soloists are: SSG Erik Tue, SFC Adiza Jibril and SSG Lindsey Grebeldinger.
Did you know Michael Buble was inspired to be a jazz singer because his family always listened to Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” during the holidays?
----
12:33 The US Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps of the 3rd US Infantry Regiment (known as “FDC”) is the only remaining Fife and Drum Corps in the American military. Military organizations trained fifers and drummers to announce alerts and signals, as well as mark different parts of daily routine in Army life. Enjoy the talent of our sister organization at Ft. Myer in this exciting arrangement of "FDC Christmas" by MSG James Kazik and MSG Michael Brown.
---
17:27 "The Christmas Song" was arranged for The U.S. Army Orchestra by MSG James Kazik.
----
20:12 This special arrangement of "O Holy Night" features The US Army Orchestra, Army Voices, and special guest soloist Gregory Porter.
Jazz singer Gregory Porter was born in Sacramento, CA, and is best known for his Grammy winning album Liquid Spirit. Porter received a full-ride scholarship to be a football lineman at San Diego State, and released his sixth studio album All Rise in August this year!
----
24:35 "I Heard the Bells" (arranged by SSG Sara Corry) features special guests The Silhouettes and Voices of Service!
The Silhouettes were a Golden Buzzer Winner on America’s Got Talent (Season 6) and have raised over $100,000 for homeless children in the United States through their performance and outreach.
Voices of Service, composed of veteran and active duty service members, were finalists on America’s Got Talent (Season 14). They are a part of CAMMO, an organization that provides support and opportunities for retired military, military kids, and music therapy services for families suffering from PSTD.

30:13 Next, we are featuring civilians from across the country in a rendition of "Noche de Paz/Silent Night/Auld Lang Syne." As myth would have it, "Silent Night" was written in 1818 on Christmas Eve when the organ in a church by Oberndorf near Saltzberg broke down. Franz Xaver Gruber quickly penned a song that could be accompanied with guitar, thus saving Christmas Eve from having a “Silent Night.”
Thank you to all who participated in this year’s "Silent Night" video from across the country!

38:08 Carrie Underwood’s "Let There Be Peace" features soloists MSG Tracy LaBrecque and SGM Christal Rheams. The writers’ hope was that this song would be a faith filled message of peace on earth. Underwood said “I’ve always wanted to make a Christmas album and it’s been a long time coming… I feel like the greatest realizations can be inspired by the most difficult times, and make us more grateful for the things we do have and for what truly matters.”
