Taiwan rejects China embassy in Belgium claim on Taiwan

Описание: Taiwan’s Representative Office to the European Union and Belgium rejected a Facebook post by the Chinese Embassy in Belgium asserting Beijing’s claim that Taiwan is part of China and urging the Belgian public to
support that position.

The office said repeating a narrative does not make it a fact, noting that the People's Republic of China (China) has never governed Taiwan since its founding in 1949.

It added that Taiwan is a democratic society with free elections, an independent judiciary, and a vibrant civil society, where the right to self-determination of its 23 million people should be respected.
