The commonest cause of premature growing of hair is genetic. So if your parents have white hair early in their young age maybe in their 30’s or 20’s you are likely to get gray hair young as well so graying of hair can start very young it can start even at the age of 10 or 12. There are people even at age of 16 or 18 who have most of the hair is great. There are certain disease conditions which can cause graying of hair. So there are certain syndromes with a white forelock. That is seen from childhood it's called as Piebaldism . So it may be associated with some other defects then there are conditions like nutritional deficiencies which is a second commonest cause of growing of hair. So in these children who are very picky eaters they avoid eating most of the vegetables and things like that they develop gray hair early. For them supplements can be given. And then other causes of graying of hair very common cause in young adults is smoking. Smoking causes premature ordering of air as it accelerates aging. So any disease conditions or any habits that accelerate aging can cause premature growing of hair. There are treatments for this. Supplements like calcium pantothenate help and there are medicines which have precursor of melanin which is a substance which produces the brown color. So there is a precursor of melanin which is available as lotions and there are other treatments like Growth Factor injections or Dermaroller, Microneedling etc which can help to reverse the greying of the hair.
