Abu Ali al-Hussain Ibn Abdallah Ibn Sina, known in the West as Avicenna, was one of the greatest minds in history. Born in 980 CE near Bukhara, Ibn Sina mastered the Qur’an and sciences by the age of ten, and by seventeen, he was already a physician of renown. His brilliance saved kings, shaped medical science, and left behind works that influenced both the Islamic Golden Age and the European Renaissance.
His masterpiece, Al-Qanun fi al-Tibb (The Canon of Medicine), became the medical bible of Europe for centuries and introduced groundbreaking concepts such as contagious diseases, diagnosis methods, and the importance of diet, environment, and psychology in health. Ibn Sina also made contributions in philosophy, astronomy, logic, and poetry, writing over 100 books in his lifetime.
