Computer-Human Interaction in Learning and Instruction - EPFL Robotics Laboratory

Описание: CHILI – formerly known as CRAFT – is doing research on novel interfaces for learning, with a focus on learning in teams.

In recent and current projects, we develop, explore, and research novel interfaces for learning, such as tangibles, tabletop environments, and paper-based interfaces. We study these interfaces along with the emerging interactions in the context of training and learning in various domains, for instances with logistics apprentices, carpenters, elementary school students, etc.

We study Human-Computer Interaction and evaluate our developments by carrying out empirical studies and experiments in the lab and in the real-world (such as classrooms). In terms of methods, we intensively use dual eye tracking to analyze how teams collaborate, for instance. We also have projects on the integration of robotics in everyday objects in schools and homes. (For more details, have a look at the “Research” section.)

It is CHILI’s goal to deeply integrate HCI and learning sciences. We are especially interested in addressing practical problems in learning, teaching, and instruction. To achieve this, all our solutions are tested in classroom studies.
