Aside from the usual HT allocation, the 405 sometimes uses DW's, often when one MMC decides to break down. These mostly consist of LJ13 plates, although others have been seen too.
Unfortunately lots of these specific DB300's were restricted, with their kickdown mostly disabled. However, this didn't stop DW543, which was sent out that day, from putting on a good show. This was the second to last run of the day for this driver, with a relatively tight timetable, so he did get his foot down - reaching around 45mph at 01:10 and 03:05 both during thrash. Some slight gradients are also seen towards the end of the video, on Pampisford Road.
Just wanted to say sorry for two things:
1) The awful photo - the sun was at a low, awkward angle, so it was the best I could do at that time.
2) My microphone struggles to cope with some of the higher revs on these buses.
