After experimenting with drugs and alcohol in his teenage years, David's life spiraled out of control. He didn't care about himself or about the ways he was hurting those in his life. One day, while sitting in a stolen car, he prayed for God to save him, because he knew if he continued in this lifestyle, he would die.
God allowed David to get arrested. While in jail, David started reading the Bible and felt God tugging on his heart. David came to Miracle Hill Ministries' addiction recovery program, Overcomers. While there, David committed to follow Jesus Christ. For the first time in his life, David understood that he was completely forgiven for all the wrong things he had done. David was truly set free.
Today, David and his wife operate Sammy's Mission, a transitional housing nonprofit that they both started. This program is designed to help those who struggle with addiction to maintain sober living through accountability and community.
God has given David a new song to sing. Psalm 96.
