Tölzer Knabenchor is a world class music school located in Munich, Germany. Founded by Prof. Gerhard Schmidt-Gaden in 1956, the Tölzer Knabenchor developed over the years to become one of the most regocnized boy choirs in the world. However, the Tölzer Knabenchor is "not only" a choir teaching around 200 boy students at different ages in different classes, like other choirs, but also regularly developed world class solists performing at the opera houses around the world.
This video documents the develeopment of a voice close to perfection (2005 - 2012) starting at the age of 6, first grade in school, joining choir 4 to finally become a member of the chamber quire and a soprano solist after 5 - 6 years. The boys usually advance annualy to the next higher choir, from choir 4 to choir 3, 2, Tribi (Trittbrettfahrer or being prepered to jump on the bandwagon) choir 1B, 1A and chamber choir. Finally only the the most talented singers enjoy solo lessons from Prof. Gerhard Schmidt-Gaden (the so called Chef) to become third, second and first solists performing internationally. Enjoy.
