Health and fun come in many forms. The Chana aur Gud ki Chikki is just one of them.
CHANA GUD KI CIKKI
Ingredients
1 cup roasted and peeled chana
¾ cup chopped jaggery (gud)
1 tsp ghee + for greasing
½ tsp green cardamom powder
Method
1. Grease a parchment sheet and a plastic sheet with some ghee.
2. Heat a non-stick pan. Add jaggery and 2 tbsps water and cook till the jaggery melts. Continue to cook till the mixture reaches hard ball consistency, while stirring in between.
3. Reduce the heat to low and add ghee, green cardamom powder and mix well. Add the chana and mix till well combine.
4. Place the greased parchment sheet on a worktop, add the jaggery-chana mixture over it and place the plastic on top with the greased side facing down and gently press to level the top. Remove the plastic sheet and make square marks with the knife on the chikki while it is still warm. Allow to cool completely.
5. Cut into required shape and serve as required.
