Using iColorama for Thick Paint Effects on Procreate Artwork | Enhance Artwork Made in Procreate

Today, we're going to do something new - moving away from Procreate to explore a few of the filters available in a different app called iColorama.

I am not affiliated with this app, but it's something that members of our Facebook group have been experimenting with, and I've been noticing the artwork that’s been posted. One of the main appeals of iColorama is the ability to add texture and dimension in the form of filters on top of a completed work of art, because this is very limited in Procreate.

I created my Painterly brushes in an effort to imitate the Impasto style of painting within Procreate, and I'm pleased with they way they turned out! However, the ability to add that layer of texture on top of the finished pieces I created with my brushes makes the art piece look even more realistic. Join me as I revisit two completed works of art that I created with my Painterly brush set, to give them that raised, three-dimensional aesthetic.

Tips and Notes:
Import finished artwork into App at full resolution
Use Effects, Raise – I like the more subtle options of 2 and 4 when going for an Impasto style, but play around and see what you like!
Select filters in the bottom right corner
Add additional effects as desired – sliders can be used to adjust opacity, intensity, and angle
