We speak about marriages that are made in heaven, where couples live together in bliss without any difficulties between them. This is a metaphorical term, whereas there was a literal marriage made in heaven between the Prophet ﷺ and Zaynab bint Jahsh. Despite Allah having married her to the Prophet ﷺ in the Quran, what was the reality of their situation?

The Prophet ﷺ once isolated himself for a month and contemplated divorcing all his wives; including the marriage contracted by Allah. Despite their disagreements, the wives of the Prophet ﷺ still treated him as a prophet of Allah and respected him as one.
