Описание: Lacy describes, in her own words, her type 1 diabetes diagnosis and how she takes care of herself by monitoring her blood sugar. She loves to do all the normal things kids do and that has not changed. UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s diabetes doctors, nurses and dietitians taught Lacy and her parents how diabetes affects the body using glucose, or sugar, to fuel it and keep it running. Lacy’s pediatric endocrinologist helped them understand what symptoms to look for and how she needs insulin to stay healthy. They gave her a book to help her learn everything she needs to know to take care of herself and manage her diabetes.
