Testing Postshot Beta 0.51 with two different cameras, images captured at approximately the same time (+/- 1 minute).
Compares:
1. A 2015 compact premium consumer camera, the Fujifilm XQ2, with a 2/3' X-Trans CMOS sensor, and;
2. A 2007 compact consumer camera, the Fujifilm Finepix F47fd, with a 1/1.6' SuperCCD sensor;
with the images captured in essentially identical lighting conditions (early evening, captured in an interleaved manner, approximately simultaneously).
The two sets of images were first used alone, for an XQ2 Gaussian Splat, and a Finepix F47fd Gaussian Splat. Then the two sets of images were run together, to test the fidelity of reconstructing using heterogenous image inputs.
Part of ongoing experimentation on the capacity for gaussian splatting to draw on a wider range of source imagery.
The Fujifilm Finepix F47fd is an 9 megapixel compact consumer zoom camera, released in early 2007, and one of the less commonly encountered models of the Finepix SuperCCD line.
The Fujifilm XQ2 is a 12 megapixel advanced compact camera, and successor to the XQ1. Both were amongst the very few compact cameras to use the popular X-Trans sensor. For details, see https://www.dpreview.com/products/fuj... accessed 16 March 2025.
