Описание: A court has struck down a measure to expand euthanasia laws in the Netherlands. Activists wanted to make it legal for non-medical professionals to perform assisted suicide procedures. The Netherlands was the first country in the world to legalize the practice in 2002. Since then, others have followed suit, including Spain, Canada and parts of the United States. The Catholic Church strongly opposes euthanasia. Author and Chairman of the Discovery Institute's Center on Human Exceptionalism, Wesley Smith, joins to share his reaction to the Dutch court's decision and whether he thinks the country's euthanasia activists will let this go. He explains whether he sees this ruling setting the tone for other nations and their euthanasia policies. There has also been a big push for expanded euthanasia in Canada. There are reports the country offered assisted suicide to a Paralympian veteran who wanted a wheelchair lift installed. In another report, a disabled man was granted euthanasia due to poverty. Smith tells us more about these reports.
