Synopsis:
In a bustling art room filled with imagination, a giant crayon box springs open with the hum of creativity. Out flies a small, broken crayon jagged, half its size, its wrapper torn. As the other pristine crayons gleam in the light, this broken crayon hesitates… then tells the story.
As soft light filters in through a window, the crayon begins to sing its heartfelt ballad:
“Just the other day my artist turned into a power saw,
And in several pieces, I did fall…”
As the verses unfold, the crayon shares its concern that it might not be able to make any more art. But the music swells with hope as the crayon realizes its worth isn’t gone, just changed.
The crayon soars off to new heights flying past other friends from “The Art Room” and finding out it is still a valuable art making tool:
• Vibrant stars twinkling in a deep-blue sky,
• A glowing sunset over a cardboard-cutout ocean,
• Handmade cards for a teacher, parents, grandparents, and pets with clumsy but loving handwriting.
The crayon’s body glows with pride, its wrapper fluttering like a cape. Other Art Room friends look on, inspired. Together, they can make any art possible.
The song ends as the crayon returns to its crayon box, surrounded by crayon friends (whole and broken alike) united in creativity.
