Turkish-Canadian Music Ensemble explores and performs the music from an inter-cultural perspective. In this ensemble, two Canadian and two Turkish musicians actively perform, create, and learn both traditional and contemporary music. One of the most outstanding features of our ensemble is that we collectively create music through improvisation. The musicians making up the ensemble are:
Bahar Bingol, project director, classical kemence and voice
Matthew David Beaubien, guitar
Theresa Lane, violin
Abdullah Safa Soydan, electronics, mixing and mastering.
We would like to thank the School of Creative and Performing Arts of the University of Calgary for providing us a studio and materials. We would also like to thank Dr. Rod Squance for supporting us, and contributing this project with his rhythm performance.
