✏️The Window of tolerance is a term introduced by professor of psychiatry Daniel Siegel. This term describes the optimal emotional zone we can be in to function best in our daily lives. The Window of Tolerance is characterized by a sense of flexibility, an ability to be emotionally regulated, and a capacity to deal with life’s stressors. Each individual’s window of tolerance is different. Those who have a narrow window of tolerance may often feel as if their emotions are too intense and difficult to manage. Trauma or extreme stress, for example, often make it more likely a person will be kicked out his window becoming either hyper- or hypo-aroused.
In this video I am explaining what the Window of Tolerance is, and why it is so important. I also give you some tips on how to return to your window of tolerance if you`ve have become dysregulated using different techniques.
