At the eye level viewpoint, the viewer's line of sight is parallel to the ground. This is what we see when walking down the street, so the image may appear commonplace. A still life may look flat.
In a bird's-eye view, the viewer is looking down at the scene. This is the best way to show depth in a landscape. The midground is emphasized and usually contains the focus. A still life will show depth cues like overlapping and changes in vertical positions.
In a worm's-eye view, the viewer is looking up. This is an unusual view. It often doesn't show depth well because we mainly see the foreground, rather than midground or background. And there's little room for converging lines.
The tops of figures tell us the type of viewpoint. In an eye level view, the tops form nearly a horizontal line. In a bird's-eye view, the tops go down with distance, and in the worm's-eye view, they go up. Eye level also tells us where the viewer's eye is located.
