In this second BBQ Basics episode, we’re still using the £50 budget grill — but this time we’re stepping it up.
No Iceland burgers.
No shortcuts.
No oven first.
Just simple, proper barbecue techniques anyone can follow.

We cook:
• Butcher’s pork sausages
• Whole chicken legs (thigh + drumstick)
• Mumtaz chicken tikka marinated thighs
No fancy equipment.
No expensive cuts.
Just learning how to manage fire properly.
The sausages took around 18–20 minutes and finished at 82–84°C.
The chicken legs were cooked fully indirect for around 30–35 minutes before finishing over direct heat to crisp the skin — finishing safely above 74°C.
This is beginner BBQ done properly.
