City residents near the Orange line are no longer suffering in silence after the City Council held a hearing on a persistent vibrating hum in their neighborhood — and they're hoping the city's $16,000 next step can put an end to it.
In a petition with nearly 100 signatures West Shore neighborhood residents, several who said they've been plagued by a "persistent loud humming noise" and vibrations that have impacted their quality of life since 2020, demanded immediate action from the City Council.
West Haven Commissioner of Human Resources John Carrano, a longtime resident of the affected neighborhood, spoke about the city's efforts to address the noise, an effort that Council President Christopher Vargo, D-8, said began about one year ago.
