Hurricane Melissa brought devastating winds and flooding to Western Jamaica. While Negril was spared the worst, Savanna-la-Mar — the parish capital and home to The Sav Inclusive School — was hit hard. The storm made landfall less than ten miles from our campus. Roofs were torn off, classrooms flooded, therapy rooms and learning materials destroyed, and our grounds left badly damaged. Many in our school community suffered even greater loss.
The Rockhouse Foundation Hurricane Recovery Fund will provide direct support to rebuild the Sav Inclusive School and help the students, families, and teachers affected by the storm.
