It’s Not Getting Hot in Here – Replacing Jeep TJ Thermostat and Housing

This video shows how to replace the thermostat, throw on a new housing, check to see if your coolant temperature sensor is functioning properly, get the air out of the system after you fill it up, and a few surprises and issues along the way.

• 15mm socket, ratchet, extension (to loosen belt tension)
• 1/2" socket, ratchet, extension (to remove thermostat housing bolts)
• 5/16” socket, ratchet or driver handle (to release screw clamps)
• Flat screwdriver (to release screw clamps and free hoses from housing)
• Funnel
• Catch basin

Torque: Torque thermostat housing bolts to 15 ft-lbs (180 in-lbs)
