The Saadabad collection has passed the four historical periods of the Qajar period, the first Pahlavi, the second Pahlavi, and after the Iranian revolution.
The palace complex of Saad Abad Museum was built in the Qajar period and was the summer residence (yilaq) of the kings of this dynasty. After the coup d'état of 1999 and its occupation by the Pahlavi family, many buildings were built in it, amounting to 18 palaces of different sizes. Each of the buildings was the residence of a member of the Pahlavi family.
The Museum of Court Weapons of Saadabad Palace is located in the northern part of this complex and near the entrance door of Darband.
This museum is permanently standing and has two floors and houses more than 110 firearms of hunting, combat, waist and their accessories that belong to Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi.
Throughout history, these weapons have been given to Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi as a gift by very important historical and political figures.
