Ontario's inspector general of policing Ryan Teschner said incidents of corruption ‘understandably shake public trust’ and announced a provincewide independent review of police in the wake of a scandal involving several Toronto police officers.
Toronto police Chief Myron Demkiw said he welcomes the review, and has plans to suspend six out of seven officers involved, without pay.
