Morris Minor engine swap - a success or total fail?!

Morris Minor Engine Removal.
• Move car onto lift, put bonnet on stand, remove earth lead from battery, drain oil and water.
• Remove upper and lower hoses from radiator. Undo grille hockey sticks, remove front bumper,
and undo and remove front panel, grille, and radiator.
• With access to the front of the engine, remove dynamo/alternator, fan belt and coolant hoses.
• Unfasten distributor cap, remove distributor, remove wiring from oil pressure switch, and
temperature sender unit.
• Remove the heater hose from the heater valve, and the engine stabiliser rod from the car.
• Unfasten exhaust manifold clamp, remove and plug the fuel hose from the carburettor, unfasten
choke cable, and throttle cable, then undo and remove six manifold nuts on cylinder head.
Remove the inlet/exhaust manifold complete with carburettor.
• Remove the starter motor, and all of the bolts connecting the bell housing to the engine, any
exhaust mounting brackets that connect to the engine backplate, and the engine earth strap.
• Attach the engine crane onto the ‘L’ brackets on the rocker box, take the weight of the engine,
remove the n/s engine mounting completely including the bracket. Undo the O/S engine
mounting rubber, and carefully lift the engine free from its mountings. The engine will now slide
out from the gearbox input shaft, to be lifted over the front crossmember and out of the car.
• Refitting is the reverse procedure to removal. Care has to be taken in aligning the clutch, so that
the engine will fit back onto the gearbox easily.
