Former University Challenge presenter Bamber Gascoigne inherited West Horsley Place, a Grade I listed building in Surrey and didn't know what to do with some of the space.
Grange Park Opera was being evicted from their old home in Hampshire and was looking for a new home. Mr Gascoigne and the opera house agreed that a 700 seater theatre could be built on his grounds which was only built in 11 months.
