UC Santa Barbara's Virtual New Student Convocation is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 29, 2020, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. for all new freshmen and transfer students in the entering class.
Approximately 5,000 new UCSB freshmen and transfer students are expected to attend this ceremonial induction into the University designed to promote the values of scholarship, leadership, and citizenship.
This year’s ceremony will feature keynote remarks by Professor Belinda Robnett, Vice Chancellor of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, remarks by Executive Dean of the College of Letters and Science Pierre Wiltzius, and greetings by 2020-2021 Associated Students President Daevionne Beasley and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Margaret Klawunn.
