I’ll be honest — I didn’t have high hopes for Sunderland. In my head, it was all grey docks, industry, and a bit rough around the edges. I didn’t even know it had a beach, let alone a promenade or a marina. But what I found genuinely surprised me.
In this vlog, I take you on a coastal walk through Sunderland’s Roker and Seaburn seafront — and it’s honestly stunning. Golden sands, clean promenades, calm waters, and a proper community vibe. I stopped for some award-winning ice cream (because why wouldn’t you?), wandered the marina, and let go of my outdated assumptions.
