At Freedom Park in Bengaluru, where protesters gathered on October 14 for a demonstration organised by the Cockroach Janta Party, Karnataka, against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls being conducted across the country.
The protesters are demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and raising concerns about the functioning of the Election Commission of India, particularly its SIR process.
The All India Students’ Association (AISA) has also joined the protest in solidarity with the demonstrators and in support of their demands.
The demonstration in Bengaluru comes amid protests in different parts of the country over SIR and concerns regarding the functioning of the Election Commission. Protesters at Freedom Park are also opposing what they describe as police brutality by the Delhi Police.
