Digital Demo Days | Raven2 and Global Clinical Network for Infectious Diseases Platform

This month we featured a demo of the Raven2 project from Handol Kim, Co-Founder and CEO of Variational AI and a demo of the Global Clinical Network for Infectious Disease platform from Cyrus Greenall and Michael Long, Co-Founders of Spectrum.

About the projects:
Raven2 is a project applying state-of-the-art AI/machine learning to the discovery and generation of novel small molecule therapeutics for COVID-19. While a number of COVID-19 vaccines have been developed at an unprecedented speed and are in use saving lives today, there is also a need for therapeutic drugs: flu shots/vaccines do not eliminate the need for flu medicine/drugs, for example. The Raven2 project consortium includes Variational AI, adMare BioInnovations and the Dr. Artem Cherkasov Lab. The goal of Raven2 is to find new molecules that bind to the Main Protease (Mpro - or 3CLPro) of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that will be commercialized into the world's first small molecule COVID-19 therapeutic. Global Clinical Network is a first of its kind platform that empowers healthcare organizations to collaborate on improving the treatment of infectious diseases. The network connects hospitals and healthcare organizations worldwide, enabling them to share knowledge, clinical data and treatment guidance. This network was designed in collaboration with existing Spectrum customers and clinical partners at institutions including the United Nations and World Health Organization, Canadian organizations at national, provincial and local levels, and hospital systems across the US.
