Rabbath Gary Karr Tribute

Описание: The day of Gary Karr's passing we were in the middle of KCBASSWorkshop 2025. It was hard news to hear since Gary started the International Society of Bassists and kcbass wouldn't be here if it were not for him. Our great leader of bringing the bass family together. During the masterclass that day one of the students played Koussevitzky concerto 2nd movement and after the maestro and the student worked out Johnny Had to pass along the news of Gary Passing. After some sober talk Rabbath decided to play this piece in honor of Gary. All in attendance were awestruck by the performance that helped us grieve and process the news. We were grateful to have recorded this amazing and emotional improvisation from one titan of the bass to another. This is very special look into what Gary meant to Francois. He later wrote the message at the end of the video. Francois also sent the pic of him and Gary when they met for a whole day at Francois home in Paris. He mentioned this meeting when he first heard the news as it wasn't that long ago that they were celebrating each other's amazing art and company. We all celebrate Gary Karr's ability to be a great artists, great teacher, and great human being.
