As we enter February, after a tumultuous January in our country, Rev. Macklin will offer a nod to the Groundhog’s shadow by exploring the hidden shadow of human nature and the power of love in our lives as Unitarian Universalists. The shadow is that aspect of ourselves that we often suppress as individuals and as a society, yet which we too often find ourselves unpacking in the face of difficulties and structures of evil. As Unitarian Universalists, we spiritual seekers center love as our guide in this month of Valentine's Day and throughout the year. The poet Maya Angelou said of love, “We, unaccustomed to courage, exiles from delight, live coiled in shells of loneliness until love leaves its high holy temple and comes into our sight to liberate us into life.”
Join us as we explore the themes of shadow and love in this February worship service.
