ACRE – THE SIEGE OF 1189 depicts one of the longest and most brutal sieges of the Third Crusade.
Beginning in 1189, the siege of Acre stretched across nearly two years. Crusader forces surrounded the city while Saladin’s army encircled them in turn. What began as an attempt to reclaim territory became a war of attrition — hunger, disease and exhaustion claiming more lives than the sword.
The lyrics focus not on glory, but on decay. Kings arrived with banners raised. Armies arrived with faith intact. Yet months turned to years, and the battlefield became a landscape of graves on both sides of the walls.
The refrain captures the relentless pressure of siege warfare: hold the line, break the gate — even when the cost grows unbearable.
Saladin’s forces waited beyond the plain, countering every advance. Inside the city, defenders starved. Outside, attackers rotted. No side emerged untouched.
The final lines make clear: the city fell, but no one left unchanged.
This track presents an artistic interpretation of the siege of Acre and the human toll of prolonged medieval warfare — not as a modern political or religious statement.
🎧 If you are drawn to medieval siege history, crusader-era conflicts and darker historical atmosphere, this track brings that chapter to life.
Stone and fire.
Hunger and iron.
No clean victory.
